The launch trailer for Alan Wake 2 has been released by Remedy Entertainment, a day ahead of game's release. This was revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview livestream. The game features cinematic shots and gameplay footage. In the game, players control not just title's writer but also FBI agent Saga Anderson who is investigating mysterious murders in Bright Falls.

The original Alan Wake was released in 2010 and focused on titular writer's search for his missing wife in Bright Falls, while slowly appearing to be losing his mind. Other games by Remedy Entertainment include Control and Quantum Break.

Alan Wake 2 will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, S, and the Epic Games Store. Currently, no physical game release is planned. Epic Games is the publisher of the game. System requirements for PC version of Alan Wake 2 were recently announced.
