The reveal was made through a trailer released recently, encouraging Fortnite players to explore Alan Wake: Flashback Island using the free access code 3426-5561-3374. The trailer details the opportunity to "rediscover the mysteries of Bright Falls and shine your light on events from Alan Wake in Alan Wake: Flashback." The creation of the island was a joint venture between Remedy Entertainment, Spiral House, and Zen Creative.

This unique experience precedes the release of the long-awaited Alan Wake 2 by just 10 days, and provides a perfect opportunity for Fortnite players interested in the sequel but yet to play the original. Remedy released a remastered version of the original on modern consoles in 2021, but for those unable to play it, this brief Fortnite event serves as a handy recap prior to the launch of Alan Wake 2. Given Epic Games and Remedy's established partnership, this promotional collaboration is not surprising.
