The latest update to Baldur’s Gate 3, popularly known as Patch 3, has sparked criticism from players despite the introduction of the much-awaited Magic Mirror feature, allowing in-game character appearance alterations. Patch 3, which went live on September 22, also offered broader support for Mac devices. However, players took to the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, outlining various issues with the patch, including minor aesthetic bugs and more significant problems.

One major issue involves the distribution of loot among player characters and their companions. Now, upon dismissing a companion, all their previously acquired loot accumulates in the player character's inventory. This feature, though seemingly beneficial, necessitates inventory management every time companions are swapped. Previously, companions could be reassigned with their inventory remaining intact.

Additionally, players noted that conversations focus solely on the player character and fail to show the expressions of companions, detracting from the immersive experience. Changes in facial animations, censoring of nudity even with the relevant setting enabled, inability to complete certain questlines, along with some dialogue issues and inconsistent problems with doors, were also reported.

Despite the criticism, around this patch, players appreciate Larian Studios' promptness in addressing bugs and concerns in the past and hope for a quick resolution for the current set of issues.
