Bethesda’s Starfield Update: New Faction, No DLC News

May 07, 2025 10:45 AM

Bethesda has recently revealed a new update for Starfield but has not announced any upcoming DLC. The patch 1.15.214 focuses on enhancing gameplay with support for Creations and includes numerous fixes for quests, vehicles, and UI elements. Interestingly, although players were hoping for new DLC, the major news is the upcoming Creation Club add-on titled "Watchtower," set to launch on May 20. Developed by Kinggath Creations, this mod introduces a new faction, characterized as protectors against human threats, and players will need to combat them to harness their advanced technology. As players debate the merit of Creation Club content, this addition may pique interest due to its potential complexity and narrative depth.

Will Starfield receive traditional DLC in the future?

As of now, there is no official announcement regarding traditional DLC for Starfield from Bethesda. The focus appears to be on the upcoming Creation Club content, which might not fulfill the expectations of players hoping for standard expansions.

Starfield, released in September 2023, marked Bethesda's first original RPG in over 25 years. Set in a vast universe, it allows players to explore various planets, build spaceships, and engage with its complex storyline. The game has seen various updates and mods, with significant community involvement, enhancing the overall experience for players and reflecting Bethesda's longstanding commitment to heavy modding support.
