Co-CEO of MindsEye Alleges Paid Efforts to Smear Their Game

May 28, 2025 12:16 PM

The co-CEO of Build A Rocket Boy, Mark Gerhard, has raised eyebrows by alleging a deliberate campaign to damage the reputation of their upcoming game, MindsEye. Speaking during a Discord Q&A, Gerhard suggested that some individuals may be financially incentivized to post negative comments about the game, including the use of spam bots. His comments came in response to a question about the negative feedback MindsEye has received. While he did not specifically name any critics, he indicated that there was a systematic effort to undermine the game's development. MindsEye, which draws inspiration from franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Watch Dogs, is slated for release on June 10, 2025, across major platforms including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

What is MindsEye, and what gameplay features can players expect?

MindsEye is an upcoming action-adventure game that promises a tightly crafted linear story campaign along with diverse gameplay modes, including free roam and various missions. At launch, players will enjoy a "Destruction Site Shootout" horde mode, two combat missions, and multiple race types. The game will also experience a steady influx of premium content post-launch, including new missions and community-driven creations, ensuring an engaging experience for players.

MindsEye is being developed by Build A Rocket Boy, a studio founded by veterans of the gaming industry, including former Rockstar North chief Leslie Benzies. The studio aims to create an expansive gaming environment that encourages user-generated content. With its unique blend of gameplay elements and a commitment to ongoing content updates, MindsEye is positioned to become an appealing choice for fans of the action-adventure genre.
