Crusader Kings 3 Unveils Genghis Khan-Inspired Expansion

Paradox Interactive is introducing a new expansion, "Khans of the Steppe," for the popular strategy game Crusader Kings III, set to be released on April 28, 2025. This expansion draws inspiration from Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire and will enhance gameplay with the inclusion of the Steppe region, new traditions, and culture associated with the Mongols. Players can step into the shoes of a young Genghis Khan, adopting Nomadic Governments and using a new Tributaries system to form alliances and gather resources. The expansion also features an updated map that will now showcase China, Japan, and Southeast Asia, each with unique government types and events. Additionally, players will be able to plan extravagant coronation ceremonies and purchase the Crowns of the World pack for cosmetic enhancements. This expansion is part of a larger fourth chapter initiative following the previous year’s events like the introduction of the Black Death expansion. It showcases Paradox's commitment to improving its offerings after a challenging period of game delays and cancellations.

Players can anticipate features such as the Steppe region, new Mongolian traditions, Nomadic Governments, a Tributaries system for alliances, expanded map coverage including China and Japan, event packs for coronations, and cosmetic upgrades through the Crowns of the World pack.
