DC Comics has announced plans to revive the Elseworlds line, offering fresh narratives set in alternate versions of the DC Universe. The news was revealed during the "Elsewhere In the DC Multiverse" panel at the New York Comic-Con (NYCC). The relaunch includes six new titles, a mix of follow-ups to classic Elseworlds stories like Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and fresh tales in newly imagined realms.

Among the new titles announced follows:

1. Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age: A sequel to the original 1989's Gothic tale where Batman battles Jack the Ripper, this series explores alternate versions of DC's heroes in a 19th Century setting.

2. Batman the Barbarian: The Batman mythos gets a medieval twist with Batman reimagined as a wandering barbarian.

3. Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter: This spinoff from Dark Knights of Steel focuses on Deathstroke's adventures in a frozen wasteland, inspired by Norse myths.

4. Green Lantern: Dark: Unfolding in a universe where the Earth has been eclipsed by darkness, a new Green Lantern emerges.

5. Batman: Nightfire: Batman returns to a world where he harbours a secret so important, he'll let Gotham burn to keep it.

6. DC vs. Vampires: World War V: A sequel to the original DC vs. Vampires with a story revolving around undead Barbara Gordon as a significant threat to humanity's survival.

DC Executive Editor Ben Abernathy noted that the Elseworlds banner allows creators to explore the vast corners of the DC Universe. The new slate of titles will premiere sometime in 2024. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates about the Elseworlds line and other comic book news.
