Don't count on an FPS mode in Once Human despite hints

Jul 28, 2024 3:35 PM

If you're a fan of the third-person survival shooter "Once Human," hoping for an FPS mode might lead to disappointment. Developer Starry Studio has clarified that adding a first-person perspective isn't in the immediate plans due to potential design conflicts. However, they are open to incorporating first-person elements in future updates or game modes. On a positive note, upcoming patches promise to enhance character movement, address vaulting mechanics, and include controller support set to arrive in August. Additional tweaks, such as solving cursor delay and providing settings for 3D motion sickness and sprinting, are already in place.

Will Once Human get a first-person mode?

No, "Once Human" is not planning to add a dedicated first-person mode due to potential conflicts with its current third-person design. However, first-person elements might be considered in future updates.

Released by Starry Studio and NetEase, "Once Human" is a third-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players navigate a landscape teeming with mutated creatures, crafting and survival mechanics that challenge gamers to constantly adapt. The game is still evolving with regular updates to improve gameplay based on community feedback.

Once Human sticking to its third-person roots makes sense given the game's design, but it's cool to see the devs staying open to future changes. The upcoming updates like improved movement and controller support show they're really listening to player feedback, which is always a good sign for the game's evolution.
