Sep 17, 2024 8:27 AM

Capcom's recent update for Dragon's Dogma 2 introduces a new casual mode and numerous performance enhancements. The casual mode aims to simplify gameplay by reducing inn fees, lowering the cost of Ferrystones, easing weight restrictions, and minimizing stamina consumption outside of battle. Additionally, players will find upgrades to vocations and significant fixes focusing on CPU overload and framerate improvements, especially in crowded town environments. The update allows players to switch to casual mode mid-game but note that some trophies can't be earned in this setting. Dragon's Dogma 2 is also set to receive a PS5 Pro Enhanced patch in November, which hopes to optimize performance significantly on the new console.

Dragon's Dogma 2, released in March 2024, is a sequel to the cult classic RPG, Dragon's Dogma. It has been well received, selling 2.5 million copies within 11 days of launch despite initial performance issues. The game expands on its predecessor's unique action-RPG mechanics and offers new gameplay elements while addressing some of the previous title's shortcomings.
