Elden Ring Composer Teases Next Project: Magical Art Anime

Witch Hat Atelier, the beloved manga series, has finally unveiled its first anime trailer at Anime Expo, promising a visually stunning adaptation. Fans had been anxious due to the long silence since the 2022 announcement, but the trailer from Bug Films has alleviated some concerns by beautifully capturing the essence of the original comic. Bug Films, known for Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, did face production issues in the past, but hopes are high for this new project.

The anime will be directed by Ayumu Watanabe, known for his work on Space Brothers and Komi Can't Communicate, with music composed by Yuka Kitamura, famous for scoring games like Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring. The story follows Coco, a young girl who aspires to be a witch in a world where only those born with magic can wield it. After accidentally turning her mother to stone, she meets Qifrey, a mysterious witch who teaches her about magic. The series will stream on Crunchyroll in 2025.
