Square Enix has revealed plans to release a PC version of "Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis" on Steam. Previously developed for iOS and Android, the game covers the entire timeline of Final Fantasy 7.
It will tell a so-far untold story of a young Sephiroth and will also feature new story elements by Kazushige Nojima, the writer of Final Fantasy 7 Remake's story and scenario. Players will be able to control original characters as well as new ones. The gameplay includes both solo and cooperative modes, along with various distinctive Final Fantasy RPG elements.
First announced in 2022, Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis has seen over 1 million pre-registrations since its smartphone release on September 7, 2023.
To recall, the game combines a retro aesthetic with up-to-date graphics and has integrated mobile-friendly features into its command-based battle mechanism. The release date for the PC version remains undisclosed as of now.
