Remedy Entertainment has revealed details about two expansions to the newly-launched Alan Wake 2. The expansions titled "Night Springs" and "The Lakehouse" were announced via IGN. Night Springs, set to release by next spring's end, allows gamers to explore the Alan Wake universe through different characters' perspectives in multiple standalone episodes. While there are no release details for The Lakehouse expansion yet, it revolves around a mysterious building by Cauldron Lake by an independent government organization. Players will alternately control characters Alan Wake and Saga Anderson.

The expansions will be free for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game, but they will also be available for separate purchase, although pricing details have not been disclosed. Alan Wake 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, S, and Epic Games Store, published by Epic Games. There are currently no plans for a physical release of the game.

Additionally, Remedy has hinted at future free DLCs and expects to provide more details post the game's launch. A New Game Plus mode, which offers an "alternative story, including new Manuscript pages and new video content", is set to be added to Alan Wake 2 in a forthcoming free update.
