First look: Call of Duty Black Ops 6 teaser revealed

May 22, 2024 4:04 PM

Activision has kicked off the marketing campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with a series of intriguing teasers. A teaser showing Mount Rushmore with the phrase "The Truth Lies" and a website featuring an interactive TV with six channels hint at the game's themes. Leaks suggest the game will have a release date in late October 2024. Fans noticed the teasers have throwbacks to the classic Black Ops 1, and it's rumored that Black Ops 6 might launch directly into Game Pass. More details are expected at the Xbox showcase on June 9, 2024, aligning with recent comments from Xbox executives about the integration of Activision's titles into Game Pass.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch?

Though not officially confirmed, strong rumors suggest that Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one, supporting Xbox president Sarah Bond's recent statements on Microsoft’s plans to launch new games, including those from Activision, on the service.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a renowned sub-series within the Call of Duty franchise, known for its grounded, espionage-heavy narratives compared to the more straightforward military campaigns of other titles. The original Black Ops, released in 2010, was a huge success and is fondly remembered for its compelling story and engaging multiplayer. Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops, is known for creating some of the series' most beloved entries, making the anticipation for Black Ops 6 quite high.
