FragPunk Console Launch Pushed Back; PC Release This Week

Mar 05, 2025 12:53 PM

NetEase's upcoming online shooter, FragPunk, is set to launch on PC on March 6, 2025. However, the console versions for Xbox and PlayStation have been delayed due to technical challenges encountered during compliance testing. The developers have communicated their commitment to delivering a polished experience, opting to postpone the console release rather than rushing it. Gamers on consoles who had pre-ordered will receive in-game rewards as compensation once the game is released, and they will be given in-game currency equivalent to $10. FragPunk features a unique card mechanic that influences gameplay, offering players a competitive alternative to titles like Valorant with its five-versus-five free-to-play structure, 150+ Shard Cards, 13 playable heroes called Lancers, and seven maps to explore.

When will FragPunk be available on consoles?

The release date for FragPunk on consoles is currently unspecified due to ongoing optimization efforts, but players can expect compensation in the form of in-game rewards once the game is finally released.

FragPunk was first revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024 and has generated considerable excitement due to its inventive gameplay mechanics. Leveraging a card system to alter game environments and strategic options, the game aims to appeal to both casual and competitive gamers looking for fresh experiences in the shooter genre. As the developer NetEase continues to work on the console versions, the community remains eagerly awaiting their launch.
