A new Gundam anime titled Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX has been officially announced, exciting fans of long-standing franchises such as Pokemon and Neon Genesis Evangelion. This collaboration between Sunrise and Hideaki Anno’s studio Khara marks a significant event in the anime world, featuring remarkable talent like Anno as a storyboard artist and scriptwriter. Notably, character designs will come from Take, renowned for her work on Pokemon games, while direction is handled by Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for directing FLCL. The plot follows high school student Amate Yuzuriha as she engages in illegal mobile suit dueling, ultimately becoming entwined in battles involving a mysterious Gundam suit.

Although there is no specific release date for the series, a re-edited theatrical version will be available in Japanese cinemas starting January 17. Information regarding overseas releases will be announced later.
