Helldivers 2 Patch Fixes Game-breaking Spear Issue

Jun 25, 2024 9:54 AM

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has rolled out update 01.000.403, which addresses crashes related to the FAF-14 Spear in the popular co-op shooter for PC and PlayStation 5. The previous patch aimed to improve the Spear but inadvertently caused game crashes, leading to recommendations against using it. The latest patch rectifies these crash issues and includes various minor fixes, like the availability of Japanese voice-overs globally on PS5 and PC, addressing corrupted text in Traditional Chinese, and fixing the Plasma Punisher's shooting issues with the Shield Generator Pack. Despite the improvements, some known issues remain, including problems with friend requests, enemy bleed-out progress, and certain weapon functionalities.

What are the main fixes included in the Helldivers 2 update 01.000.403?

The main fixes include resolving crashes caused by the FAF-14 Spear, addressing corrupted text for Traditional Chinese, fixing Plasma Punisher's shooting issues with the Shield Generator Pack and the Quasar Cannon's heat changes, correcting the Spore Spewer's color on certain planets, and more.

Helldivers 2 has become the fastest-selling PlayStation game of all time, selling 12 million copies within 12 weeks of its release. Despite the game's success, Arrowhead has faced multiple challenges, including server problems at launch and disputes with Sony about forcing Steam players to link their accounts to PlayStation Network. Recently, Arrowhead's new CEO, Shams Jorjani, revealed plans to enhance the studio's capabilities in response to the game's unprecedented success.
