Renowned actor Jack Black had a unique performance at a SAG-AFTRA fundraiser event staged on October 25th, which included stripping while singing Taylor Swift’s song Anti-Hero. A fan-captured video showcased the energetic performance, revealing the actor entertaining the audience post his stand-up gig at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. Despite initially hesitating, as some of the suggested songs by fans fell within the parameters of the ongoing strike, Black enthusiastically took up Swift’s hit from her 2022 album "Midnights". The performance even included him forgetting some lyrics and dancing around in his boxers. Other performers for the event included Rachel Bloom, LeVar Burton, Nicole Byer, Bryan Cranston, and more.
The fundraiser was organized to amass emergency relief funds for union and non-union crew members impacted by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. The strike has affected Hollywood productions significantly since its outset on July 14, as actors negotiate a new deal with the AMPTP. Recent developments suggest progress, with the union delivering its latest proposal to the AMPTP on October 26, and talks due to resume on October 27.
