In recent news regarding the DC film "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom," reports have emerged of actor Jason Momoa allegedly trying to get co-star Amber Heard fired from the sequel. According to these reports, Momoa supposedly arrived on set under the influence and dressed like Johnny Depp, apparently part of a plan to oust Heard. These claims surfaced when notes from the Depp-Heard defamation case were published online by Reddit users.

The same report stated that Heard narrowly escaped being dismissed from her role as Mera after the first Aquaman film in 2018. However, this was said to be due to poor chemistry with Momoa, not because of her feud with Depp. Amusingly, it seems that Elon Musk, a former boyfriend of Heard's, was instrumental in her retaining the role. It's claimed that one of Musk's attorneys sent a strongly worded letter, which led Warner Bros. to keep Heard on for the sequel.

However, Warner Bros. and a spokesperson from DC challenged these allegations, insisting that Momoa always behaved professionally on set. Another source even suggested that Momoa's seemingly Depp-inspired attire was just his usual bohemian style.

Despite these controversies, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" has continued production, despite going through several reshoots, because superhero movies are often extensive projects. The film, with a hefty budget of $215 million, is set for release on December 20 and hopes to replicate the financial success of its predecessor. However, recent underperformances in other DC films have raised questions about the future success of the brand.
