Jul 24, 2024 2:34 PM

The latest trailer for "Joker: Folie à Deux" confirms the return of a major Batman villain, Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face. The trailer showcases Arthur Fleck (played by Joaquin Phoenix) institutionalized at Arkham and hints at Harvey Dent's involvement through a piece of dialogue revealed via closed captions. Early set photos hinted at Dent's appearance, showing Gotham citizens holding signs related to him. The film, part of DC Elseworlds, is set to release in theaters on October 4, 2024. The character of Harvey Dent, last seen in Christopher Nolan's 2008 film "The Dark Knight," will potentially play a pivotal role in this sequel.

Who is Harvey Dent?

Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, is a prominent character in the Batman universe. Initially Gotham's District Attorney, he becomes the villain Two-Face after being disfigured on one side of his face. Known for his dual personality and obsession with the number two, Dent often makes decisions based on the flip of a coin, representing his fractured psyche.

"Joker: Folie à Deux" follows the critical and commercial success of the first Joker film, which redefined the character's backstory by focusing on his descent into madness. This sequel, directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, aims to delve deeper into the complexities of Gotham City and its notorious inhabitants. The involvement of familiar characters like Harvey Dent adds to the anticipation, as fans are eager to see how the story unfolds in the context of DC Elseworlds, an initiative that explores alternative narratives apart from the main DC Universe canon.
