Mario Creator Omitted from Mario Kart World Credits

Shigeru Miyamoto, the iconic creator of Mario, has been notably absent from the credits of the recently launched Mario Kart World. This latest Mario Kart installment debuted with the Nintendo Switch 2, but many fans were surprised to find that Miyamoto’s contribution went uncredited. His last credit in the Mario Kart series was for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Some speculate that he may have chosen not to be credited as a way to allow the new development team to shine. This isn’t the first instance of his absence in recent Nintendo games, as he was also not credited for Mario Kart Tour or The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. Additionally, longtime voice actress Samantha Kelly, who voiced Princess Peach and Toad for eighteen years, has also been replaced in Mario Kart World.

Miyamoto may have opted out of the credits, aiming to shift focus onto the new development team, as he has been taking on more of an advisory role at Nintendo in recent years.
