Marvel's Star Wars Series Will Dive into the New Republic Era

Marvel Comics is set to relaunch its flagship Star Wars series in May 2025, exploring the New Republic era following the Battle of Jakku and the end of the Galactic Civil War. This new storyline will follow iconic characters Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa as they work to establish the New Republic amidst chaos and an emerging threat from pirates and other villains. Written by Alex Segura and illustrated by seasoned Star Wars artist Phil Noto, the series promises to deliver plenty of action, character moments, and fresh storylines that allow fans to easily join in. The first issue is slated for release on May 7, coinciding with Star Wars Day celebrations.

The new Star Wars series from Marvel Comics will focus on the events that unfold after the Battle of Jakku, showcasing Luke, Han, and Leia as they rebuild and navigate the challenges of establishing the New Republic while combating new enemies in a chaotic galaxy.

This new comic series follows the events of Return of the Jedi, where a power vacuum emerges as the Empire's hold fades. The narrative promises to articulate the struggles the heroes face while introducing new characters and challenges fitting for a post-Galactic Civil War setting. Additionally, Marvel is also launching another comic titled Star Wars: Legacy of Vader, which will delve into Kylo Ren's journey after the events of The Last Jedi, signaling a broader exploration of the Star Wars universe in 2025.
