Nintendo's Fault Speedrunner Sets Unbreakable Xenoblade Record

May 27, 2024 3:53 PM

A Xenoblade Chronicles X speedrunner, YMG-C, achieved a historic world record before Nintendo shut down the Wii U’s online servers, making it the last ever record for the game's online mode. The shutdown means no one can attempt another online speedrun of Xenoblade Chronicles X, cementing YMG-C’s record. Amid the closure of the Wii U and 3DS servers, there's hope among fans for a Switch port, although any future ports will likely affect speedrunning categories due to differences in hardware performance.

Will Xenoblade Chronicles X get a Switch port?

Currently, there is no official announcement from Nintendo regarding a Switch port for Xenoblade Chronicles X. However, given the series' popularity and continuing releases like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, fans remain hopeful for a future port.

Xenoblade Chronicles X, released in 2015 for the Wii U, is a notable entry in the Xenoblade series developed by Monolith Soft. Featuring an expansive open world and complex gameplay mechanics, it has garnered a dedicated following, despite being less known than other installments. The game's limited availability has led to consistent fan demand for its re-release on newer platforms.
