Nintendo Switch Online has over 38 million paid members

Nov 10, 2023 9:05 AM

Nintendo Switch Online, the subscription service for Nintendo's popular hybrid console, now boasts over 38 million paying members. The announcement was made during an investor's meeting where Nintendo disclosed its financial results. It was also revealed that there are currently 132.46 million Nintendo Switch owners worldwide, indicating that a significant portion of the console's user base does not subscribe to the online service.

A Nintendo Switch Online membership provides subscribers with a variety of benefits. These include access to online multiplayer gaming, cloud saves, and classic game libraries containing titles from the NES, SNES, and Game Boy. Additionally, a higher tier subscription is available, which includes the ability to play Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Advance games, as well as access to downloadable content for certain titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 3, which would typically have to be purchased separately. The exact number of subscribers who have opted for this expanded tier was not disclosed.

With such a large base of Switch owners, Nintendo's online service remains a significant aspect of the company's offering, encouraging players to connect and enjoy classic titles alongside new gaming experiences.
