Open Beta The Finals drew 7.5 million players

Nov 06, 2023 4:55 PM

The open beta of the shooting game "The Finals" attracted 7.5 million players, according to developer Embark Studios. The studio describes the feedback week as memorable and plans to start implementing changes according to player suggestions immediately.

The open beta of the game ran from October 26 to November 5 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, S and PC. The game's theme is a violent game show where players attack each other with firearms in dynamic arenas.

The game was announced last year and is a free multiplayer shooter. During the beta, it was criticized for using AI-generated voices, something that voice actors and other developers found unacceptable. In response, Embark Studios assured that it is not their end goal to make games without the help of actors. However, no release date is announced for the full game.
