PlayStation Stars returns for some after month-long break

Jul 12, 2024 7:11 PM

After a month-long hiatus, the PlayStation Stars loyalty program has made a comeback in the United States. PlayStation Stars, which experienced downtime since June 6, allows users to earn points for purchasing games and completing in-game objectives. These points can be redeemed for digital collectibles or wallet funds. Although Sony hasn’t detailed the reasons behind the outage, a statement on July 7 indicated a phased regional rollout for its return. Some users have reported that updating their PlayStation App has restored access to the program.

What is PlayStation Stars?

PlayStation Stars is a free loyalty program launched in 2022. It allows users to earn points through game purchases and in-game objectives. These points can then be redeemed for various rewards like digital collectibles and wallet funds.

PlayStation Stars is essentially an evolution of the PlayStation Rewards program, aiming to keep users engaged by offering incentives. This move aligns with Sony’s broader strategy to enhance user experience and loyalty within the PlayStation ecosystem.
