Feb 23, 2024 9:04 AMRiot Games has officially renamed its long-awaited League of Legends-related fighting game Project L to 2XKO. The game has been confirmed to launch in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Fans can anticipate a playable demo at EVO Japan in April, and there will be opportunities to partake in playtests later this year. Set in the League of Legends universe of Runeterra, 2XKO is a 2D tag-team fighter that enables players to choose a duo of champions and battle against another pair. Furthermore, it was previously announced that the game will adopt a free-to-play model.
When is 2XKO coming out?2XKO is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
2XKO hails from the vibrant world of Runeterra, the same universe inhabited by League of Legends' champions. This game is a testament to Riot Games' ongoing effort to expand beyond their flagship MOBA title. Riot has a reputation for building deep lore and intricate worlds, so 2XKO is expected to enhance the narrative of Runeterra and its characters. The decision to make 2XKO a free-to-play game follows the same approach as League of Legends, aiming to attract a large player base and more than likely, offer cosmetic in-game purchases as a revenue stream.

Nice It's exciting to see Riot Games expanding their universe with 2XKO. The free-to-play model should draw in a lot of players, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they weave the game's narrative with the already rich lore of Runeterra.
Wow, the rebranded 2XKO is making some big promises for a 2025 release on PC and next-gen consoles. It's exciting to see Riot Games extending the League of Legends universe into the fighting game genre, and I'm looking forward to diving into Runeterra with a new perspective.
Man, a League of Legends fighting game with a 2D tag-team setup sounds like a blast And it's all set in the rich universe of Runeterra, too. With Riot Games' commitment to deep lore and the free-to-play model, 2XKO has the potential to be a big hit when it launches in 2025. Can't wait to see more of it at EVO Japan
