Rockstar Games has announced that the original Red Dead Redemption will be available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 from August 17. Initially, only a digital version will be available, priced at €49,00, which also includes the Undead Nightmare expansion. A physical copy of the game will be on sale from October 13, 2023.
The PS4 version can be played via backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and it has been completely translated to simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish. There's no announcement for an Xbox version yet. However, Xbox owners can play an upgraded 4K version through the Backwards Compatibility program with their original Xbox One copy.
Rockstar's decision to release Red Dead Redemption on new platforms coincides with the game's 10th anniversary on May 18, 2023. There was also a rumor that Rockstar Games cancelled the remasters of Red Dead Redemption and GTA 4. This might be confirmed as the company is unlikely to release a remaster shortly after a port.
