Paddington in Peru, the much-awaited third film in the series, has announced its theatrical release dates. The movie will premiere in UK cinemas on November 8, 2024, and two months later in US theaters on January 17, 2025, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Under the direction of Dougal Wilson, Paddington is set to return for a new adventure with the Brown family, featuring a journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru to meet Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears.

The production of Paddington in Peru commenced in July, over two years after the announcement of the third instalment in this beloved franchise. The screenplay comes from the combined efforts of Mark Burton, Jon Foster, and James Lamont, based on the classic children's stories by Michael Bond. The movie will see Ben Whishaw voicing the iconic bear again with Imelda Staunton offering her voice to Aunt Lucy. Other major cast members reprising their roles include Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin, and Jim Broadbent. Emily Mortimer has also joined the cast, stepping into the shoes of Sally Hawkins. Antonio Banderas will be seen as a new character, a riverboat captain named Hunter Cabot, assisting the Browns on their Peruvian adventure.

The Paddington movies, featuring the teddy bear protagonist, have been quite popular in the past years. The sequel, Paddington 2, was particularly praised by IGN, gaining an 8.5 out of 10, labelled as "all in charm and wit".
