A fresh trailer for the second season of "Invincible" was launched at the 2023 New York Comic Con. The season, set to release on November 3, continues the narrative of Mark Grayson, who is wrestling with the fear of becoming like his father, the once-respected superhero Omni-Man. Fans were offered a sneak peek of new characters arriving this season, like Shapesmith and the multiverse-traveling villain, Angstrom Levy.
The latest batch of episodes will drop every week on Prime Video, starting from the premiere date, and will pause for a mid-season break after the fourth episode. The latter half of the season will pick up with new weekly releases early in 2024.
The anticipated season is based on the comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. It tells the story of an ordinary 18-year-old boy, Mark Grayson, whose father was once the greatest superhero on earth. Mark is still reeling from his father's big betrayal from the first season and is now tasked with handling new threats, all while dealing with his biggest fear of unknowingly becoming like his father.
The unique combination of familiar superhero themes with heartrending character relationships and unexpected violence was praised in the first-season review, with it being described as the year's most surprising superhero series.
