Genshin Impact, popular online action-RPG, is celebrating its third anniversary. However, the plans for this milestone have left some players feeling underwhelmed. Previous celebrations have featured a Daily Login Event that didn't resonate well with players, and unfortunately, it appears the developers have decided to repeat it for this year.

The anniversary event, termed 'Bathing in Flowing Moonlight', will offer 10 Intertwined Fates and other goodies to players who log in for seven days straight.

Contrary to fans' hopes for a chance to freely select from in-game 5-star characters as gifts, the surprise gifts will only include 1,600 Primogems, four fragile resin, and exclusive in-game items. This has drawn some negative comparisons with the more munificent rewards from sister game, Honkai Impact 3rd's anniversary events, and spawned theories about the developers favoring Honkai over Genshin.

But it's not all gloomy, as the character line-up from 'Version 4.1' has been received positively by players. Two recently announced characters, Neuvillette and Wriothesley, will both debut as 5-star units in phases 1 and 2 of V4.1. This marks the first time since February 2021 that two 5-stars are introduced without any new 4-stars in an update.

Moreover, these new characters will operate alongside returning fan favorites in the second banner. Neuvillette's banner debut will parallel the third rerun for Hu Tao, while Wriothesley's initial banner will coincide with the first appearance of Venti in 2023. And to put a cherry on top, version V4.1 will expand the game with the Fortress of Meropide area becoming playable.

The anticipated release date of Genshin Impact 4.1 is on Wednesday 27th September, one day before the game's third anniversary.
