Dead Space 3 writer Chuck Beaver, in a recent interview with YouTuber CaptainBribo, revealed that if a potential remake was to happen, he would choose to "almost completely" redo the game’s narrative. The focus would be on a mentally broken Isaac Clark after the traumatic events of Dead Space 2, taking inspiration from the unreliable narrator trope popularized by Tyler Durden in Fight Club. Beaver elaborated that most of the remake would maintain this cerebral element, leading to the revelation of Isaac's visions being real - the manifestation of a "dark Isaac" by necromorphs. Launched in 2013, Dead Space 3 received mixed reviews, chiefly for its blend of single and multiplayer elements, a trend in the industry at the time. Beaver detailed that such sudden design shifts created difficulties for the writing team to incorporate a second player or AI character into many scenes.
Earlier in 2023, a remake of the original Dead Space was released to positive reception. This has prompted EA to consider remakes for the second and third games. It remains to be seen if a potential Dead Space 3 remake would feature Beaver's revised storyline.
