X-Men Set to Appear in Upcoming MCU Films, Says Feige

Nov 20, 2024 3:05 PM

Marvel Studios' boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that the MCU will see the introduction of more X-Men characters in upcoming films. At the Disney APAC Content Showcase, he hinted at recognizable characters joining the franchise, specifically related to major upcoming films like "Captain America: Brave New World," "Thunderbolts," and the much-anticipated "Fantastic Four: First Steps." Feige emphasized the importance of X-Men in the MCU’s future narrative, especially leading into "Secret Wars." This establishes a significant shift towards integrating mutant lore into the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Which X-Men characters are expected to appear in the MCU soon?

While specific characters have not been revealed, Feige emphasized that fans can expect some well-known X-Men players to feature in the MCU's upcoming movie roster. This suggests that popular characters such as Deadpool, Wolverine, and even possibly Gambit may have significant roles as the franchise moves forward, especially post-Secret Wars.

The X-Men franchise has a long-standing history in comics, dating back to their creation in 1963. Previously, the X-Men enjoyed a successful run in their own film series, which began with "X-Men" in 2000. However, after Disney's acquisition of Fox, the cinematic future of the X-Men became a topic of much anticipation among fans. The integration of X-Men into the MCU provides vast narrative opportunities, combining their rich backstories with the larger Marvel storyline.
