007 First Light: new PC specs and release date

IO Interactive has recently shared the updated system requirements for the PC version of 007 First Light, with release planned for 27 May 2026. This marks the upcoming launch of one of 2026’s most anticipated games, which will be available on most current-generation consoles.

The latest specs for 007 First Light highlight the ability to play the game at 1440p and 4K resolutions without using upscaling technology. That should deliver a strong experience for players on modern hardware.

IO Interactive has published several presets, including Minimum, Recommended, Enthusiast and Ultra. The Enthusiast and Ultra settings require powerful components, but the goal is to let players run the game smoothly at 60 FPS or higher. Here’s a breakdown of the requirements:

• Minimum: 1080p at 30 FPS, with an Intel Core i5-9500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5700.

• Recommended: 1080p at 60 FPS, with an Intel Core i5-13500 or AMD Ryzen 5 7600, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.

• Enthusiast: 1440p at 60 FPS, with an Intel Core i5-13600K or AMD Ryzen 5 7700X, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 or AMD Radeon 7800 XT.

• Ultra: 4K at 60 FPS, with powerful hardware such as an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080.

Release on platforms

007 First Light will launch on 27 May 2026 for most current-generation consoles. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive later, as IO Interactive needs more development time to optimize that release. That suggests the developers are aiming for the best possible experience across all platforms.

Gameplay and features

Developed by the same studio that made the Hitman franchise a hit, the game promises an exciting mix of melee and gun combat. Beyond the technical specs, IO Interactive has also confirmed that some graphics features, such as Nvidia’s RTX Path Tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction, will only arrive in a summer 2026 update. Of course, other features like an uncapped framerate, input remapping and a range of audio options will be supported at launch.
