Atomfall gets television adaptation after millions of players

The British action-survival game Atomfall, sometimes referred to as "British Fallout", has announced that it will be getting its own television adaptation. The announcement comes after the game surpassed 3.7 million players worldwide and recently won the award for Best British Game at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards.

Atomfall is developed by Rebellion and was inspired by the fictional nuclear disaster that draws from the 1957 Windscale nuclear disaster, the largest nuclear disaster in British history. In the game, players wake up inside a quarantine zone and must search for answers and a way out of this sealed-off area.

Players are challenged to explore, scavenge, craft, and fight through a beautifully recreated environment. Atomfall offers a unique British take on the post-apocalyptic genre, dealing with themes such as the crisis of post-war identity, nuclear paranoia, and what happens when a small British village is cut off from the rest of the world.

The television adaptation is being produced by Two Brothers Pictures, founded by brothers Harry and Jack Williams, who are also serving as the show's writers and executive producers.
