Final Fantasy 14: important updates and changes to the Online Store

Changes to the Online Store

On April 2, 2026, Square Enix made major changes to the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store. Players can now gift more cosmetic items to friends, as restrictions on gifting these items have been lifted. This change comes nearly four years after the limits were introduced as a measure against real-money trading (RMT).

The following items are now available to gift:

• Mounts (single-character only)

• Minions (single-character only)

• Emotes

• Orchestrion Rolls

• Face Paint

• Chocobo Barding

• Fashion Accessories

Previously, only certain items such as weapons and outfits could be gifted. This change is meant to improve the player experience by making it easier to share items with friends.

Important events in April

Alongside the Online Store changes and the upcoming update, Final Fantasy 14 also has several events planned for April 2026. Players can take part in the Moogle Treasure Trove, which offers a range of activities such as Treasure Map Dungeons and PvP Frontline, where they can earn Irregular Tomestones of Aphorism and exchange them for rare rewards.
