Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 wins major awards and welcomes premium artbook

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the award-winning RPG from Sandfall Interactive, continues to draw attention in the gaming world with a string of major wins and upcoming releases. The game, which launched in 2025, has won over players with its gripping story and striking art style.

Award wins and recognition

On April 17, 2026, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 received the prestigious Best Game award at the BAFTA Game Awards. This marked a major milestone for the game, which has now won all five major Game of the Year (GOTY) awards, including the Golden Joystick Awards and the DICE Awards. That makes it only the second game in history to achieve the feat, after Baldur's Gate 3.

In addition to the top prize, the game also won in the Debut Game and Best Performance in a Leading Role categories, with Jennifer English recognized for her role as Maelle. The result follows an impressive nomination run, with the game shortlisted in 12 categories.

Charlie Cox’s role

Voice actor Charlie Cox, known for his role in Daredevil, lent his voice to the character Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Cox, who previously downplayed his involvement with the game, recently revealed that he has played part of it, though he says he is "not very good" at it. During the BAFTA ceremony, he speculated that if the game ever gets a film adaptation, Robert Pattinson would be a strong choice to play Gustave. Cox said: "They should get Robert Pattinson for the role, and then I can add my voice. Then they’ll have the exact Gustave from the game."

Cox’s performance also earned him a nomination for Best Performance at the 2025 Game Awards, though the award ultimately went to his co-star.

Upcoming releases: artbook and collector’s edition

Alongside the award wins, there is more good news for fans: on April 2, 2026, it was announced that a premium artbook, "The Art of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33", will release on November 24, 2026. The artbook offers insight into the game’s artistic influences and is available to preorder in a Collector’s Edition with exclusive content, including art prints and premium packaging.

The standard artbook is priced at $57, while the Collector’s Edition with extras is available for $100. This edition includes a high-end finish and artwork printed on special paper.
