MAUschine gets 10-year ban after violent incident at CAGGTUS Leipzig

During the CAGGTUS Leipzig tournament on April 19, 2026, Counter-Strike 2 player MAUschine was permanently banned from all esports events for a period of 10 years. The punishment follows an incident in which MAUschine struck his opponent, Fabian "Spidergum" Salomon, in the face during a live broadcast. The confrontation took place during the tournament’s awards ceremony, where 5v5 teams compete for prizes.

The violent incident occurred during the closing ceremony as players were heading into the prize presentation. MAUschine and his team Verloren lost to Spidergum’s team, Legends Lobby. In the shocking footage, visible in several clips circulating on social media, MAUschine can be seen hitting Spidergum after it was confirmed that he had won.

The trigger for the attack appears to have been a comment from Spidergum. After winning the match, Spidergum shouted the phrase "papi chulo" — an expression that MAUschine, who is 30 years old and from Berlin, also uses frequently. That led to emotions boiling over, resulting in the violent act on stage.

Response from the organizers

Tournament organizers DACH CS Masters confirmed the ban, stressing that physical attacks at events will not be tolerated. "We have taken action and MAUschine has been banned for at least 10 years. The incident has also been reported to the Esports Integrity Commission," the organization said in a tweet. This has sparked calls for a lifetime ban for MAUschine.

Repercussions for those involved

Spidergum appeared unfazed by the violent incident and played down the situation with a lighthearted post-match tweet. He joked about the punch and suggested that MAUschine should aim better. Meanwhile, Spidergum’s team, German esports organization Regnum4games, has offered to provide him with legal support in connection with the incident.
