The gameplay reveal showed an exciting opening in which the Wanderer and Lorath Nahr head to the docks to book passage to Skovos. Along the way, they meet a preacher of Akarat who announces that an omen is coming in the form of a solar eclipse. This introduction to the gameplay promises a mix of new enemies such as merfolk, water aberrations, crabs, and sea serpents, as well as a confrontation with the Hand of Akarat, who is possessed by Mephisto.

There are two new classes: the Paladin, which is currently available, and the Warlock, which will be introduced at the expansion’s launch. Other major features include a reworked Skill Tree for every class, a Loot Filter, and the War Plans system, which offers tailored progression. The Horadric Cube will also return, along with the brand-new Endless mode, called Echoing Hatred, and a fishing minigame.
