The indie sci-fi adventure game, Echo Generation 2, has officially been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass, with a release date set for May 27, 2026. This sequel to the popular Echo Generation is one of several titles being added to the Game Pass lineup next month.

New pricing for Xbox Game Pass

Microsoft recently announced that it will be cutting the monthly cost of Xbox Game Pass. The reduction is nearly $10 and applies specifically to the Ultimate tier. This pricing change is part of a broader restructuring led by Xbox’s new CEO, Asha Sharma, who is aiming to rebuild and reposition the company’s consoles and services. The recent adjustments to the pricing structure have been welcomed by gamers who had previously dropped the subscription, although the changes around day-one releases for new games, such as the expected Call of Duty titles, have divided fans.

Echo Generation 2 release

Echo Generation 2 is scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026. The announcement was made during the ID@Xbox showcase in April 2026, where a new trailer was also shown. The trailer highlights the variety of environments and playable characters in the new voxel-based deckbuilding RPG. In addition to Xbox Series X and S, the game will also be available on Steam.

In Echo Generation 2, players take on the role of Jack, a former special agent trapped in an alternate dimension. While trying to find his way back to his world, players will also control other characters, including bounty hunters Noliva and Strix, and a mother named Annata Z, who is searching for her missing child. A demo for the game is currently available and lets players take control of the young psychic character, Sister M.

Gameplay and mechanics

The gameplay in Echo Generation 2 is built around a dynamic deck-building system, with players choosing from more than 150 cards. This system offers a wide range of elements, abilities, and even summons used in turn-based combat. The varied attacks showcase impressive moves, including lightning strikes and telekinesis, depending on the character the player chooses.
