Forza Horizon 6: Horizon Play and new multiplayer events

Playground Games has revealed details about the multiplayer suite in Forza Horizon 6, which will be known as ‘Horizon Play’. This suite is presented as the main hub for the game’s multiplayer modes. With a mix of returning and new events, Horizon Play aims to deliver a varied experience for both new players and veterans.

What is Horizon Play?

Horizon Play is designed to be the central hub for all multiplayer activity in Forza Horizon 6. Players will be able to jump into a range of game modes built specifically for competitive interaction with other players. The suite will let players queue up for specific events that include educational games and competitive races.

Returning events

One of the most notable returning events in Forza Horizon 6 is ‘The Eliminator’. This event is inspired by battle royale games, where players compete to be the last one standing. It delivers a dynamic and exciting experience in which strategy and strong driving skills are crucial.

New event types

Alongside returning events, Forza Horizon 6 also introduces new race types. One of these additions is ‘Spec Racing’, where all players race in the same vehicle, emphasizing fairness and putting the focus on driving technique. Another event, ‘Touge Showdown’, was recently discussed during a developer Q&A on Forza’s Discord channel, and offers a more twisty, technical racing experience.

Game availability

Forza Horizon 6 is officially available on 19 May 2026. However, players who choose the game’s premium edition will be able to start earlier, with access from 15 May 2026. This gives dedicated fans a chance to experience the game first.
