LEGO Harry Potter Collection verschijnt op Nintendo Switch 2 op 16 oktober 2026

• The collection has already been released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
• No upgrade path for owners of the Switch version has been confirmed yet.

What happened

Game Rant says that LEGO Harry Potter Collection is getting a release on Nintendo Switch 2 and lists 16 October 2026 as the date. The collection is not new: the game has already launched on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. That would make the Switch 2 version an additional platform release alongside the existing versions.

According to the report, this will likely be a version that is largely similar in content to the current releases. The outlet does expect the Switch 2 edition to be technically stronger than the original Switch version, with better graphics and performance. However, that is not an officially confirmed spec list in the article, just an expectation based on the new hardware.

The report does not mention any extra content for the Switch 2 release. It is also still unclear whether players who already own the Switch version will get an upgrade path to the Switch 2 release. Based on the available information, only the date is known, along with the earlier platforms and the assumption that the new version will perform better technically.

The article was published on 2 October 2026. That means the listed release date of 16 October 2026 is about two weeks after publication. The available information does not include any additional confirmation from Nintendo or the publisher in the provided text.

Background

LEGO Harry Potter Collection bundles the LEGO games based on the Harry Potter franchise. The Nintendo Switch 2 listing fits into the collection’s existing run of platform releases. The game is therefore not making its debut; it is being mentioned for an additional Nintendo platform.

The available information does not include official specs for the Switch 2 version. The only concrete details in the report are the release date, the earlier platform releases, and the expectation that the new version will run better than on the original Switch. The report also does not confirm whether the content changes compared with previous versions.

Because the article does not include an official announcement text or technical breakdown, it remains unclear whether the Switch 2 release is a straight port or a modified edition with different optimizations. It also remains open whether the publisher or Nintendo will later share more details about a possible upgrade option for existing owners.

The combination of a concrete date, an existing multiplatform release, and an unconfirmed upgrade path makes this mainly a platform expansion for a familiar collection. The core of the report is the planned arrival on Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 October 2026, with the only added expectation being better performance and graphics than on the original Switch.
