Persona 4 Revival adds Aika Nakamura as a new Social Link

What happened

Atlus has shared new information about Persona 4 Revival and confirmed Aika Nakamura as a new Social Link. In the coverage, Aika is linked to Persona 4 The Animation, where she previously appeared, as well as Inaba and Yasogami High School.

Atlus West followed up with a cast update that mentioned Aika Nakamura, Nanako Dojima, Ryotaro Dojima and Tohru Adachi. The same post lists Johnny Yong Bosch alongside Adachi, pointing to a confirmed voice role in the current remake rollout.

Alongside the cast information, Atlus also outlined several gameplay updates for Persona 4 Revival. The update mentions a revamped combat UI, adjusted dungeons, Baton Pass, and a new All-Out Attack variant called “Series Finale”, though Atlus has not yet explained exactly how those systems will work.

Separate reporting also says Atlus does not plan major story changes for the more controversial storylines involving Kanji and Naoto. That places Aika’s new Social Link firmly in the category of extra content, while the main story structure appears to remain largely intact.

Background

Persona 4 Revival is a remake of Persona 4 and is being presented in current communications as a version with new and adjusted content. Aika Nakamura’s addition fits that approach, as Atlus is bringing a character from Persona 4 The Animation into the remake.

According to the available sources, Aika is the daughter of the owner of Aiya, the Chinese restaurant in Inaba, and appears in the remake as a classmate of the protagonist at Yasogami High School. The sources do not yet give a full picture of how extensive her Social Link will be or how much of it is new compared with earlier Persona 4 material.

The combination of a new Social Link, a partially confirmed supporting cast and multiple combat changes shows that Persona 4 Revival is doing more than simply re-releasing the original game. At the same time, reports about Kanji and Naoto suggest Atlus does not intend to significantly rewrite the main storylines.
