Pokémon Pokopia: a near-complete replica of Kanto

Intelligence Summary
- Take a look at the impressive recreation of Kanto in Pokémon Pokopia, built by a dedicated player.
Pokémon Pokopia: a near-complete replica of Kanto
More than two months after the release of Pokémon Pokopia, a Reddit user known as u/starguy13 has recreated almost the entire Kanto region in the game. The project has been carefully documented and shows impressive progress.
The recreation project
u/starguy13’s project uses the empty Palette Town map as the foundation for the recreation. The player aims to rebuild the original locations from the first Pokémon games as accurately as possible. Despite a number of obstacles, the progress is impressive.
Challenges and creative solutions
One challenge the builder faced was starting from an awkward location, which meant some areas did not fit neatly into Kanto’s cartography. As a result, several routes and towns had to be shortened or compressed into the available space. That led to a few adjustments to the original layout, but u/starguy13 has successfully recreated key buildings such as Professor Oak’s Lab and Mt. Moon, with players able to access both locations in full.
Future plans
Thanks to a bit of extra space on the west side of the map, u/starguy13 plans to recreate Route 29, which would provide access to the Pokémon League and Johto from Victory Road. While there is currently no room for the rest of Johto, there are still plenty of other possibilities for future creations in the game.
