Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th anniversary set with special designs

Pokémon has announced a striking trading card set to mark the 30th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The set is unique because every card in the set is a foil card, making it a treat for collectors and players alike. This new set also introduces 30 new illustrations of the iconic character Pikachu.

Anniversary set features

The Pokémon Trading Card Game: 30th Celebration expansion includes not only new designs, but also a number of classic cards. The set features legendary Pokémon such as Dialga, Ho-Oh, Xerneas, Miraidon, Lunala, Kyogre, Zacian, and Zekrom. In addition, fan favorites like Sylveon, Greninja, Slowpoke, and Meowth are also included, with a mix of new and classic cards, including the popular Base Set Charizard.

Booster packs and rarity

Each booster pack in the 30th anniversary set contains five foil cards and one foil basic Energy card. It is still unclear how many cards the full set will include, but it appears there will be a strong emphasis on the foil finish. The Pokémon Company has also introduced a new card rarity called “Futuristic rare,” which will feature detailed and vibrant illustrations designed by well-known Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN.

Trading surge

Last year, the Pokémon Company reported that more than 10 billion Pokémon cards had been produced, bringing the total to 85 billion cards so far. However, this massive output has also led to market challenges, including scalping, shortages, and even theft in stores. Despite these issues, demand for Pokémon cards remains as strong as ever.
