Pokemon TCG Pocket reveals Paradox Drive expansion

Pokemon TCG Pocket has officially revealed details about the upcoming B3a booster pack, Paradox Drive. The expansion is inspired by the Paradox creatures introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players can look forward to its launch, which is scheduled for May 27, 2026.

New gameplay gimmick

In addition to new cards, the Paradox Drive expansion introduces an innovative gameplay gimmick that lets players create new synergies between their cards. With this addition, Pokemon TCG Pocket aims to deliver a fresh experience that could change the game’s dynamics.

Changes to the reward system

With the arrival of Paradox Drive, Pokemon TCG Pocket is also ending Dex Missions and Emblem Tickets. In their place, a simpler card-based reward method will be introduced. This decision is intended to make the game more accessible and give players a more direct way to earn rewards.

Special subcategories

Paradox Drive introduces two new subcategories: Ancient and Future. Each of these subcategories includes unique interactions and cards. While full details have not yet been revealed, the announcement suggests these new mechanics will expand strategic options for players. Players will be able to build powerful new decks using both Ancient and Future cards.

Ahead of launch, several events will take place, including the Paradox Drive Emblem event, where players can compete for new emblems and stardust, as well as Community Week in June, during which players can trade their cards. All of this should further build excitement around the upcoming expansion.

Pokemon TCG Pocket recently reached a major milestone by surpassing 200 million downloads across all platforms. This figure may indicate that DeNA, the game’s developer, feels motivated to continue supporting this popular digital card game, as well as to introduce more creative features, such as the current Ancient and Future gimmick in the Paradox Drive expansion.
