Star Trek: 60th anniversary special comic announced

In September 2026, Star Trek celebrates its 60th anniversary, and as part of the festivities, Paramount and IDW have announced a special anniversary comic. Titled Star Trek: The 60th Anniversary Special, the oversized one-shot will be available on 2 September 2026.

The anniversary comic is a 68-page anthology featuring stories from a range of writers. One of the most notable contributions comes from David Gerrold, one of the last surviving writers from the original Star Trek series. Gerrold is best known for his work on the iconic episode The Trouble with Tribbles.

Alongside Gerrold, the special includes contributions from acclaimed writers such as Brian Michael Bendis, Mike McMahan, Ryan North, and Dana Gould. Gerrold’s story in the comic will focus on the infamous Star Trek con artist Harry Mudd.

What’s inside the comic

The comic’s 68 pages include a variety of stories, including a one-page Enterprise tale, an adventure featuring Scotty from Gould, and a story set in the The Next Generation era centered on Beverly Crusher. There’s also a story tied to Starfleet Academy and a small teaser for a future Star Trek comic from IDW.
