The hunt for Gollum: new Middle-earth films and surprising actor returns

The successful world of Middle-earth is getting attention again with the upcoming film "The Hunt for Gollum." Set before the events of "The Fellowship of the Ring," the movie promises a tense look at Gollum’s downfall and his connection to the One Ring. The film will be directed by Andy Serkis, who will also reprise the iconic role of Gollum.

Direction and creative choices

Peter Jackson, who previously directed the original "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, has publicly said he is not at the helm of this new film.
