Where the winds meet: season update 3 and new content

The popular wuxia RPG Where the Winds Meet, developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase, has launched its third season with the release of version 1.6 on April 30, 2026. Titled "Seek Within," the update introduces a new area, raises the level cap, and adds a range of new quests for players.

Introduction to the game

Where the Winds Meet first launched in November 2025 and quickly drew major attention. Within 24 hours of release, player numbers surpassed two million, underscoring the strong interest from gamers. Set in an action-packed open world, the game draws on wuxia literature, where martial arts and adventure take center stage. The developer has promised regular updates and new seasonal content.

Season 3 and new features

The latest seasonal update brings a wealth of new content. One of the biggest additions is the new Qinchuan region, which players can explore after reaching level 14 and completing specific quests, including the Qinghe Main Chapter: By Lamplight and the Liangzhou Campaign "Dasan Pass." Qinchuan features a beautiful landscape of grasslands, trees, clouds, and mountains.

In addition to new areas, several new quests and missions have been added, such as "Lost Chapter: To Friends, to the End" and two new Jianghu Legacy missions. The level cap has been raised to 95, and players can now reach Breakthrough level 14. Gear tier caps are also increasing to 91 with the new Tier 86 Arsenal.

Key new gameplay elements

The update also introduces a unique world boss, the Snowplum Requiem, where players face off against musicians wielding dangerous weapons. Defeating this boss rewards valuable items, including Echo Jades. New abilities such as "Idle Wind" let players move through the new Qinchuan region like a gust of wind.

In addition, new multiplayer campaigns are available from level 91, including the Serpent's Fang trial and the Bloodstained Sands challenge, which support up to five and ten players respectively. This adds a new layer to the game's cooperative play.

Community and events

To celebrate the launch of Season 3, the game is hosting its first half-year event from April 30 to June 24, 2026. Players can take part to earn rewards such as a commemorative outfit and 15 pulls. The "Let it Snow" event is also going live, unlocking the new mystic skill "Stone Pier" after May 21. New additions to the Echo Draw gacha system are also being introduced, including the Rythmic Echo set, which will be added to the permanent pool.
