WWE 2K26 shuts down online services and WWE 2K27 is in development

Recent updates to 2K’s support page and Take-Two’s latest earnings report have revealed important details about the future of the WWE 2K franchise. WWE 2K26, which launched on March 12, 2026, will end its online services on March 31, 2028. At the same time, development on WWE 2K27 has been confirmed, with a release expected in March 2027.

While WWE 2K26 is still active with multiple DLC seasons rolling out, 2K has announced the official shutdown date for its online services. Players on PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox will no longer be able to play online after March 31, 2028. The decision is hardly surprising given the annual release cycle of WWE 2K games.

What’s next for WWE 2K27?

WWE 2K27 is currently in development following Take-Two’s confirmation during its earnings call. That means, alongside WWE 2K27, other titles such as NBA 2K27 and PGA Tour 2K27 are also in the works. Ringside Season Pass #4 follows in July with Jelly Roll, Lady Shani, Matt Hardy, and Jeff Hardy. September and October will bring Ringside Season Pass #5 and the final releases, respectively, with stars such as Bam Bam Bigelow and Earthquake.
