Xbox Game Pass: new titles for May 2026

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect nine new games in May 2026. This wave of arrivals comes after a period of major changes to the service, including a notable price increase announced in late 2025.

Price increase and adjustments

In December 2025, Microsoft announced a significant price increase for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The hike sparked widespread frustration among subscribers, leading to a wave of cancellations and a crash on the company’s website. Xbox’s new CEO has since decided to roll back the increase, bringing the cost down by about $7 to $22.99. It’s also important to note that Call of Duty will no longer appear as a day one Xbox Game Pass release. Instead, titles in the Call of Duty franchise are now expected to arrive on the service about a year after their original launch.

Nine new releases

Xbox Game Pass currently has nine new titles lined up for May 2026. The confirmed releases are:

• Final Fantasy 5 - available on May 5, 2026. This pixel remaster offers a fresh take on a classic game.
• Mixtape - launches on May 7, 2026, an indie game expected to draw plenty of attention.
• Call of the Elder Gods - scheduled for May 12, 2026, this game will blend action and adventure in an intriguing setting.
• Forza Horizon 6 - arrives on May 19, 2026. The game is set in Japan, a fan-favorite location for the series.
• Beastro - scheduled for release on May 21, 2026.
• Echo Generation 2 - arrives on May 27, 2026.
• Crashout Crew - scheduled for May 28, 2026.
• RV There Yet? - a date still to be confirmed in May 2026.
• Subnautica 2 - also without a specific date, but expected in May 2026.

Of the nine confirmed titles, eight are new day one releases for subscribers. Forza Horizon 6, the month’s biggest release, brings the kind of open-world experience fans have been waiting for.

Access and availability

Subscribers should note that the new day one games will be available exclusively to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Those on lower tiers should not expect access to most of these new titles. However, Final Fantasy 5 will be available on the Xbox Game Pass Premium tier, which is a welcome bonus for those users.

Subscribers can also still expect a few new titles in April 2026, including Aphelion on April 28, followed by Trepang2 on April 29, and the addition of three other games at the end of the month.
